Just wondering, what monastery did you apply at and can you give a recommendation when I apply as well?

Wally...holy crap. Excellent storytelling on your part, but a shame you had to go through it, of anyone, you need a break.
If you're looking for something to do next weekend (8/7-8) the lemons race at Thompson CT is always a good time. There is a pig roast Saturday night and out team is bringing a live band, we (3 pedal mafia, Everyone Racers podcast) are happy to host you too. Spectators are allowed, just show up at the gate and pay your $30 and you're in. You can email me too: abbottcd at the gmails.
In the spirit of the thread, when I pulled the race car out of the trailer to prep for Thompson just Wednesday, doing a once over all I need to do is an oil change and a bath, the car is holding up great. Win.
Apparently Facebook added make/model filters to their search engine feature in Marketplace at some point in time.
I have no idea when that happened, but it's my win for the day since I just noticed it.

It's a beautiful place right on the Hudson. They say I've got the vow of celibacy down but my silence needs some work.

Thank you, let me see what's going on and I'll send a message
If you're available on 18 September my club is running race management for the Coatesville Vintage Grand Prix. Come hang out and watch the cars, or we'd love to have your help in grid or on a corner if you feel like it!
"She checks her blood sugar and it's 370. She shrugs it off..."
and then Pete nopes his way outta there

Awesome! Have a great trip!

Jodi’s was 380 the day she had her stroke so I was a bit concerned.
I mean, she is aware enough to check it.... Where would it have to be for her to consider it important?

A Catholic guy told me about a men's weekend retreat north of Grand Rapids, MI. Woods and a lake
It was two days of silence and no phones or computers. No talking at meals or outside. Prayer, Mass, Bible reading, meditation.
I'm not Catholic but the quietness and peacefulness interested me.

That was a bit confusing. Jodi had stopped testing and taking her meds once she lost weight so we had no idea it was high. To be aware and indifferent was odd.
Minor win for today: offloaded some parts for cash, and turned that cash into the seats I actually want to have for the Courier. Bought them from a really cool guy with a 5.3 swapped 280zx, and we both came away happy. Whoo!
In a marathon 6-hour gaming session today, I wrapped up a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that started over 3 years ago.
Everything got put on hold for Covid. People got busy. One player moved to another city an hour away. Scheduling to get the full group together for the finale was a PITA.
We did it. We wrapped. They won. The ending was satisfying from the moment they did an aerial insertion halo jump off the back of dragons, until one player decided to heroically sacrifice himself to banish the aspect of an evil goddess while her temple crumbled on top of them. Then another player pulled out a creative way to save him so that, as everyone looked back on the wreckage, he emerged from the crushed rubble having been shielded by an elemental.
It's done. Everyone is happy with the ending.
And now, I'm setting D&D aside and switching to another system that is mechanically much simpler to run.

I don't know if I could do it, I get a bit antsy if things are too quiet
Pete lives with a teenage daughter. Different perspectives.
Just scored two free Technics turntables, an SL-B350 and SL-D303. Now to figure out if either work and if either is worth keeping
On my way home from NC my surgeon called to schedule my bariatric surgery. 8/25 I will hopefully be getting it done. I tried and failed too many times on my one so hopefully this will be a better answer

Lots of naps
I think you mean "meditation."
My minor win:
It didn't rain last Saturday.
