I would keep an eye on that property if you are still interested. I'm guessing the sisters are thinking they can get more. They will probably relist it in the future.
But, in a way they poisoned the well. All the realtors in the area now know the story. Good chance they won't get more than you offered. As sellers they made a classic mistake in my opinion. I bet their realtor is a bit pissed.
