For purposes of the class I'm taking I had cause to Google "F1 Manager Games" and came up with at least half a dozen viable candidates. Is anyone here playing one and can anyone offer an opinion as to which one you'd consider "good"?

Generally, you get a budget then pick your car, engine and driver and run simulated races. Depending on the game it's based on "reality" so it's more like Fantasy Football but some are made up.

It would be fun to pair this with a sim, the way ATC simulators can interact with MSFS. But then you'd need real F1 drivers or it would be like a whole field of Maldonados out there

F1 fans are nothing like nerds. No, not at all.

So I'm taking it that nobody here is playing them? My class assignment is to design a "serious game". What I have in mind is a game where the player is a "diagnostician" and is tasked to learn the fundamentals of Operations Research to learn how to determine which element (car, driver, tire, engine, etc.) is the most desirable in certain circumstances. Think of it as Dr. Greg House or Sherlock Holmes with a lap chart. Does that make anyone sit up and take notice?

http://www.batracer.com is a browser-based game that's been around for years.

http://igpmanager.com/ made a splash in the sim racer community a few years ago.

/Haven't touched either in several years.
