Because the hive mind is full of surprising information...
Where would I go shopping locally to buy pH buffer calibration solution for calibrating the pH meter in our brewery lab? I know I can get it online, I'd just like to have it ASAP. Hardware store? Pool supply? Aquarium supply/pet store? Target?

Home Depot or Lowes sell that stuff for pools
I guess it depends on what kind of regulations you have to meet. I would guess that pool supply stuff is not adequate. Go to vwr.com or something and order the calibration standards for overnight delivery.
There's probably a chemical supply company in your area that sells this sort of thing to city water departments for calibrating their equipment. For instance, http://www.hawkinsinc.com/groups/ covers Minnesota and the upper Midwest.
edit: This looks like a likely source: http://www.gfschemicals.com/

It's not a regulation thing. This isn't going in a food product. It has to be accurate and precise so that my pH meter is actually calibrated properly to be actually usable.
Steam boiler chemical supplier, there should be plenty around.

Do you use your pH meter for things that have to deal with brewing? Usually the pH meter has to be accurate to within a certain range, which can't be guaranteed without certified, traceable calibration standards. Normally you would get a 4, 7, and 10 pH standards and use those to calibrate it. You also probably need to keep a log of when it's been calibrated.
