My monitir screen suddenly turned pink. Every thing else is OK. Why ? Fixable ?
video cable is loose or has a crack in the ground. I've seen it a few thousand times.
re-seat at both the monitor end and the computer end.
hdmi? If so check the cable, unplug and replug, then try to turn off the screen if neither of those work then reboot
Thanks guys.
I turned the monitor of an back on , no change.
I doubt it is the cable but I will check it.
Then I will reboot.

I'd go with this... Or the pink screen of love. It may be that, too.
Maybe - I'd try to hook up a known good monitor cable first, if that doesn't work it's likely to be new monitor time.

Also the pink screen of love. Or at least lust.

You owe me a keyboard for that one!

Yep it's a CRT that has had the colors go off for some reason. Usually it's the cable, see if you have another one and try it in there. If that doesn't fix it, give the monitor some good hard bitch slaps from the top and side. If it goes back to normal, the monitor's bad. Get an LCD, they use way less power.
Shop for an eight year old LCD monitor off of CraigsList. It will be $10 or something like that. It won't be big or wide screen, but it will be a cheap replacement!
Today, all is back to normal. Maybe tipping the monitor over to get at the cable shook things up, as gameboy suggested. I have been mulling the idea of a new one, but I am frugal. As long as it works.
anyway , thanks everyone for the help. Is this a great site or what.
Dude, I have an old LCD monitor I'll send you for $10 plus shipping. I'm in Texas, where you at? It's a 17" monitor or something like that.

You're spending a lot more on energy bills to power that CRT than the monitor would cost, that's for sure
CRT's are horrible power consumers.
