Joe (his real name) and The Sheik were actually friends in real life, and with Joe living up the street, I've met him a number of times, he was crazy in real life, but also a great guy.

Ugh. For someone whole stole their entire gimmick, I guess I can give him some credit for being entertaining, even if he was just copying the one true Sheik, Sabus uncle, Ed Farhat.
Not a wrestling fan, but enjoy wresting docs and such.
Recently watched one on A&E and it was really cool. Neat to see his upbringing, what pushed him away from Iran (? right?) and what he did here in the states. How he fell, but recovered and kept his family together in the end.

Then you need to listen to the "Behind the Bastards" episode on Vince McMahon. It's like a 6 parter and it is a wild ride. The Sheik makes an appearance a couple times.
