Question for the moderators...

Do you have the ability to block / ban IP addresses within your forum software?

I'm an Admin on a very large forum (60K members) and once we started banning IPs, the spam was nearly eliminated.

Nothing is off the table to preventing canoes. We'll have a discussion about our strategy during our next meeting with our site developer.

There are some websites that are very useful in confirming whether someone warrants a little extra scrutiny (and/or banhammer). I'd be happy to share if you're interested.

Maybe posting about a certain accounting software needs to be an automatic ban.  Multiple posts from all these new members.
