My '96 Celica GT's spoiler clearcoat has just started to peel in a couple places. Does anyone have any tips on a cheap way to fix this before it progresses? I don't have a sander or air tools btw.

There is none. Once it starts, it needs to be sanded/stripped and repainted.

ddavidv's right. The CC is not bonding to the basecoat. It's possible to CAREFULLY wet sand and 'feather edge' the peeled areas, then wet sand the whole thing and re clear it but that is only a stopgap, the problem will come back. That can be done with hand tools.

If you decide to do this, be aware the base coat (the color) is very thin and easily sanded through.

Yes, abandon all hope ye who see the clear coat peeling.

If I ever get my 'rolla repainted properly I'm either going to get extra clear coat layers or starshield so this crap doesn't happen again.
