I've always been partial to this one myself. The F1 pictures explain why the header is white

Can't remember which block the heads were attached to but they are Coates Spherical Rotary Valves. Berkeleying awesome idea and I can't figure out why they're not more popular.

that is just a perfect example of how simplicity can be beautiful.

Wonder how they hold up to carbon buildup?

I remember reading about this years ago, and if memory serves me right, it was bolted to a Ford 5.0 block. I remember the article stating that the engine was doing 10K RPM runs with those heads.

I saw some bays posted in this thread, so i'm going to post some awesome engine bays. Note: I am not saying that the engines in the bays are necessarily awesome.

(EDIT)
GOD the formatting on this board is beyond infuriating.

(EDIT for the 7th time.)
Are you berkeleying serious? Screw it. That's the best it's going to get.

My buddy Mark's engine bay. I did all the welding/plating and custom machining in there. The body shop made it all pretty.

Beautifully done, and I hate it. The clean smooth look just makes things look non-functional to me.

Kind of partial, but the '96 quad-cam cobra engine is a looker.

The bare minium needed to make the car work. The essence of efficient function.

I have actually had to work on this car and it is a pleasure. There is nothing in the way of anything. The VR6 "crack pipe" is usually a pull the front end off the car kind of job and on this I had it out in 5 minutes.

"Why does a man mate a 2.5-liter, 156-hp Alfa V-6 to a Harley-Davidson four-speed and install it in an off-the-shelf frame? Why does he then put two Weber downdrafts in the vee and route the velocity stacks through the tank?....No one knows, and the mystery is part of the appeal — some things are meant to be accepted and marveled at, not understood. Answers just diminish their impact." - Sam Smith
