Agreed.

Also in NC-

Cedar Lake, IN

Sandbar Grill - It's right in the lake. They have really good food. Mainly burgers and sandwiches, but they started serving breakfast recently and we've heard that its pretty good.

Pier 74 - Across the street from The Sandbar. Probably some of the best pizza in the Chicago South Suburbs. They have other food, which I heard is good, but I've always had pizza when I've gone there. They also have a rotating craft beer menu from local breweries.

Dairy Queen - Yes Dairy Queen. Right on the lake next door to The Sandbar, I'm only saying this because its an old school, walk up, Dairy Queen. You can get a Mr. Misty float and then sit on the break wall and watch the sun go down over the lake.

Tastee Top - Another Ice Cream place. Great Ice Cream with a huge selection.

Harry-O's - Best pancakes I've ever had. Period. Other food is good there too.

La Gaviota - It's the only Mexican grocery store around. They sell pre marinated meat out of their meat case. (They butcher their own meat) which makes tacos at home just as good as restaurant tacos. They make their own tamales, guacamole, and pico de gallo. You can also order out from there too, but we enjoy making our own stuff out of the stuff we get there.

Beecher, IL

Buddy's Drive-In - Right in my home town. Another old school walk-up. It's a good ice cream place. I like their burgers. Remind me of old-school diner burgers. Their soft serve hasn't changed in over 20 years. They also have a car show the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Portland, OR My Father's Place - Best breakfast I have ever had. Fresh squeezed OJ, over-hard eggs, bacon that was TO DIE FOR (and I'm not a bacon fan) and delectable hash browns. All for something stupid cheap like $9 w/tip. Never tasted something so good based around the basics.

The Dalles, OR http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g52093-d1105712-Reviews-Petite_Provence-The_Dalles_Oregon.html

I don't even know what to say about this place. Again, breakfast (possibly my favourite meal of the day). Again, fresh squeezed OJ. Croissant that melts in your mouth (mind blowing). Perfect overhard eggs. Shredded hashbrowns mixed with fried onions, bacon, and chicken breast. No greasiness, blew my mind. The chopped bacon was not as good as the Portland restaurant, but you will NOT be disappointed in breakfast at either of these places.

This place. Burke's Bakery, Danville KY. If you're ever in Central KY, stop in. Morning is best, and the gingerbread men are to die for. Flake Rolls are another recommended item. It's an old-style bakery. My wife hails from Danville, so I've been quite a few times.

Not even a comparison, Black Dog blows it out of the water. Black Dog is a smallish place and don't take reservations so always around meal times there is a wait, how long depends on how big your group is. Definitely worth it though

Fill me out a list for Hartford. I usually am downtown - and I'm sick and tired of all the walking-distance regular stuff. Where do the locals eat?

Plan b glastonbury.

Nat Hayden's in south Windsor

Bricco in glastonbury.

Firebox in downtown hartford.

Any Luna's pizza west hartford or glastonbury.

There is a seafood place in Wethersfield that does good fresh fish n chips and has a few taps. It's just a seafood place with a fryer but awesome.

Frank pepe's pizza at the Manchester mall.

I gt a few others. Let me know the next time you are in town. I'll meet up with you.
