In reply to Dusterbd13-michael (Forum Supporter) :
Methylene chloride was banned for use in paint strippers late last year so there are a number of them that are no longer available now.
In reply to EvanB (Forum Supporter) :
Im assuming that they were using it for some nefarious purposes?
Is there anything thats as good as that stuff was?
TIL that I did in fact break something. The toe in question is swollen and purple.
driving 160mi in the vibration chamber probably complicated things

Is that why the 5 gallon bucket of Berryman's that I bought this spring is worthless for cleaning parts?
In reply to Duke :
My job involves a lot of standing, walking, and running. And one of the equipment I use is controlled by lifting a pedal with your left foot, which is exactly what I can't do.
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
OK, you're right, that's much more of an issue, then. I'm sorry to hear about the injury either way.
In reply to Duke :
It's the same one I broke 20 years ago in a 4 way lug wrench accident, and AFAIK it's the only bone I have ever broken.

TIL that, in spite of everything I know about Social Distancing, I’m still willing to accept an envelope full of $100 bills to offload something on Craigslist.
Next step, money laundering: legitimate edition.

Looks like that is still 30-40% methylene chloride according to the SDS. Not sure if that is less than it used to be or not. I imagine it is going to be gradually banned from all products.

Yes, giving users the cancer.
Not really.

Berryman's carb cleaner dip. UGGG. Just the thought of that crap makes my throat hurt. I worked at auto parts stores while I was in HS and college. Every once in a while someone would drop a can of that crap inside the store and life would suck for the rest of the day.
The real reason it got banned is because stupid people used it indoors without enough ventilation and killed themselves. Seems to me that is enough reason to require it, not ban it.
today (or yesterday) i learned that there has been a disease outbreak on every election year since 2004

You're new here, so someone should tell you. Political posts are not encouraged, especially inflammatory information that is not well referenced and footnoted. Honest discussions are somewhat more tolerated, but still not the main purpose of this forum.

Stick around long enough and you'll get an idea of some of us and how we may lean politically, but that is not why we're here, and not what we talk about. Unless your religion is The Holy Order of Petroleum and your political argument is gas vs. diesel, this isn't the place.

You keep presenting the Petrol and Diesel as the only alternatives, but Ethanol is more effective in some applications!

*wearing a tin foil hat*
We have a two party system because it works. Ethanol is just a distraction meant to destabilize the system. It's all just a ploy by big electric so they can take over and control the world.

They're coming all the way from Taiwan, the $300 price tag was slowing me down more than the shipping.
