we seem to have lost several of our female posters … hope it's not the way we "treat" them … we haven't heard from Leslie in a while … and (I can't remember her user name) there was a female mechanic that posted on her quite often … been absent for quite a while … and several others …
was glad to see morbid hop in on this thread .. showed that she was still around

So once people are banned do all their posts get deleted? We used to have a 'members' button that you could click on to see peoples posts and post count, leader board etc. But in one of the forum revisions it seems to have gone away. I went to the googlymoogly to look for Mguar, Snowdoggie and Dogooder. Snowdoggie is the only one who still appears to have posts left on here.
BTW, I've got to agree with the Canuk's, no one but American's calls ham 'Canadien bacon' And they are just 'muffins' not 'English Muffins'. 'French toast' isn't from the cheese eating surrender monkeys, 'Swiss Chard' is just 'chard' and it's not from Switzerland. Russian dressing, German chocolate cake etc. etc. WTF is it with this country adding random country names to foods?

No, lsx swaps are about as played out as stance/hellaflush......I wish lsx fans would just buy GM's with them so they didn't ruin everything else.

What's played out about a light, powerful, reliable, infinitely upgradable and relatively cheap engine? We're not going for style points here

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry, I totally have to use this later. That is awesome.

Thank you very much. But the info above may have let the genie out of the bottle.

When I was in college in the early 70s the state biologists were just ecstatic when the first Canada Goose starting overwintering on Clark Hill Reservoir. I think the mood has changed.

IIRC someone wanted to know how to transport some … can't remember the particulars .. but the answer (not a miata) was provided within an hr or so ….
Festivus GRM rant...Whenever someone posts a thread related to carburetors, it doesn't take more than 3 to 5 posts in before some berkeleyhead tells them they need to go with some variety of fuel delivery that requires electrons. Once, I even started a thread about mechanical fuel injection that got completely derailed with all the EFI proponents.
I get it, EFI will solve world hunger, bring wold peace, and create the greatest era of economic prosperity this world has ever known. But some of us happen to prefer our Edelbrocks, SU's, Carters, Solexes, Webers, Hollys and Strombergs. And we aren't going to change.
Look at it this way: if a guy came up to you in the street asking for directions to the nearest laundromat, would you proceed to tell him how to get to this great dry cleaners you know about? Because that's exactly the same thing.

Also see: Any motor swap thread, ever. (CHEBBY! CHEBBY IN EVERYTHING. ALWAYS.)
you do know how to ignore those suggestions, don't you ?
and then repost the original question ? and every time someone tries to derail the thread … repost the original question ….
even the densest among us will eventually get the point … don't need to get snarky or anything like that … just ignore and repost the question

Technically I think that's a Bloody Mare.

I'm not sure why, and it's nothing against you v.c.h., but I read that and heard the voice of Heinz Doofenshmirtz.

Same story since 1955.

Well, I have been known to be bumbling and incompetant, but only rarely evil. Actually, as my skin has grown thicker with age I've tended to ignore the EFI Nazis (along with the expurts who tell me old cars are dangerous). Besides, I'll happily get on my own soap box and tell people how the Volvo 122 is the GREATEST CAR EVER MADE.
I guess if you guys'll be tolerant of that, I'll be tolerant of all the electron pushers.
The best thing about carbs is that hitting them with a hammer is a legitimate troubleshooting technique. You have to respect that.
Too bad it doesn't apply to more things. Or people.
There's another hot button jump on the band wagon point that seems to get peoples hackles up other than Carbs / EFI. FWD Vs RWD. The 'FWD always suck all the time and it is impossible for it to be fun' crowed seem to have go more vocal over the last couple of years too. Like many I grew up believing that FWD, like automatic gearboxes was the spawn of the devil. Then I grew up and was prepared to be open to new things and discovered that FWD can be a hell of a lot of fun. Some here seem militant in trying to persuade the world that just can't be the case.
