Down. specifically Down 3. Specifically the track "Nothing in Return"
Im not sure if it's sludge metal, or heavy metal, or space rock, or stoner metal or whatever, but it's heavy as hell and has such atmosphere. If you're unfamiliar with Down, it's southern based bluesy heavy rock/metal, with Phil Anselmo of Pantera on vocals doing his thing without much screaming. Also Rex Brown, whose bass tone is king. Give em a try. The first three albums are amazing, I'm less familiar with the later stuff.
In reply to Duke :
My introduction was a track from their first album called Eyes of the South. It hits pretty hard. And being released when Pantera was in their prime, the energy from Anselmo is way higher than the later Down albums.
I saw Particle live in Philly maybe 15 years ago at the Trocadero with Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Karsh Kale spinning as a DJ. Great show overall.
I might get some flak for this but I think Down is just as good as some of Pantera and shows Phil Anselmos vocals better.

(I'm not happy with this. I prefer the previous one. They should have come to an agreement and paid off if necessary).
Bro country. My Durango is in the shop again and I've got a sweet vintage 09 Suburban and am stuck with regular radio stations. This should probably be in minor confessions but some of it's pretty catchy. I parked by the water and could use a girl and a beer about now lol.
World Beat / jazz influenced British funk from the early '70s. These folks had a relatively short career and languished for decades before kind of getting rediscovered in the late Oughties.
Cymande - Dove:
Thad is a great "new age" artist. Annie and I are vacationing in Narragansett, RI, and have had a few glasses of vino. So this music is appropriate.
Funny that in 1965-66 my friend Mike (who had a '63 AH Sprite and a surf board) and I would frequent this sleepy little beach town. Now I'm looking down on it from a perch that didn't exist back in those days.
I'm a classic rock and blues kind of guy but I can't get enough of Miley Cyrus lately, she's a real talent
Funky retro groove that you'll swear you remember from somewhere, but is an original composition.
Hugo Kant - This Old Tune:
I just opened Spotify to listen to the new Deftones album. I'm a huge fan of them, 2 songs in so far and I'm really digging it.
Steven Wilson has written more great songs than any 3 musicians, and he works in the old-school AOR format.
