RX-7 owners can find their kind by smell too.
So can Alfa owners. It's usually a scent comprised of gasoline, electrical fire, burnt clutch and sticky interior plastics.
My E30 smells like Bigfoot's corn-encrusted feet. I don't know if other Bimmer drivers will recognize the smell, but some animals might.
I saw a sign for it in a store on my way to work, I will have to stop off tommorrow if the weather isn't too bad.
Whenever I drive the Pontiac my wife can tell I put the top down because I smell like "fresh air". Which begs the question of what I normally smell like, of course.
[Juno] "Want a berry-flavored condom? My boyfriend wears them every time we're sexually active. They make his junk smell like pie." [/Juno]
Both my cars have a signature smell: The AE92 smells like gasoline with a little Bardahl's #2 and just a tiny little hint of cigarette smoke from the previous owner (luckily it seems he kept the windows down so it's not the strong, choking kind of scent and the interior was undamaged). The Samurai smells like dirt, dead plants and sweat. Much like a lawnmower actually.
