All convertible 4th-gen F-bodies were limited to ~105mph because they didn't want to mix flexible chassis with the uprated stiff suspension. So if you bought an LS1 engined convertible with a six speed, you could hit the speed limiter in 6th... and 5th... and 4th... and almost 3rd.

Not to perpetuate any stereotypes but I had a Mustang owner who was certainly living up to the hype on the highway behind, then in front of me today.
We're ALL going 10 under the limit because traffic sucks right now. Making an unsafe pass and then having a freakout because you only got one car length ahead just makes you look like an idiot.

Driveshaft failures are actually fairly sudden affairs.....when mine failed due to exceeding its rpm limit it gave no warning signs at all before the bang and subsequent rev limiter.
