We've been meaning to try out more wines and figure out what we really like, and recently a friend who's a distributor offered to round up some samplers for a few households. Now we've got the one wine we knew we liked enough to have a few bottles around (Gnarly Head old vine Zinfandel), but also have *gasp* twelve different bottles to try out! So... we're going to need help remembering what we've tried and what we thought of it. Hence the hope that GRM has a wine notetaking app recommendation!

Wouldn't hurt if it helped us keep track of what's in the basement, but at this point having 24 bottles (totaling 13 different wines) is so crazy it's hard to imagine ever needing a "wine cellar management" app.

We're on Android, but it'd be neat if we found one app that worked for the whole circle of friends who're playing along at home across both Android and iOS...

I can't help you on the app question, I strongly suggest you taste blind. It's very easy to be influenced by labels, regions, etc. Best if you put them in bags without looking at them, or have someone else do it if possible.

FWIW, I don't do a lot of note-taking these days, but I like a good old fashioned notebook. Moleskin or something similar, one wine to a page, relevant details, price, availability, tasting notes.

We use an app called Delectable. You take a picture of labels of bottles you like, and it keeps information and reviews for you.
