I don't wear glasses so bear with me.  SWMBO has been getting headaches if she wears glasses for a long time.  Sometimes she wears contacts, one for reading and one for distance both at the same time; I guess your brain sorts it out.

Trish went to an Ophthalmologist for a tune up and discovered her eyes have improved 40% since her last visit.  Huh.  She got a light prescription for distance but no more contacts or readers.

That's it, carry on.

In reply to 914Driver :

My near-sightedness did improve a bit around the time I hit 40. Unfortunately my night-vision has decreased a bit since then.

At 70 plus my distance vision is still near 20-20 but my arms are too short for reading. Still have better than average night vision.

SWOMBO had eye surgery for cataracts   and went from coke bottles to 20-20 eyesight.

Depends- was she originally far-sighted? If so, as people age they tend to get more near-sighted, so her vision would have improved for a while before (eventually) getting worse again. My eyes were that way- originally had to wear modest-strenght glasses/contacts for farsightedness, toward the end of college was told I only needed the glasses for extended reading/computer use (very low power, to avoid eyestrain). Now I'm on the cusp of needing full-time glasses again...

Pretty commonplace.  I was extremely nearsighted as a young lad.  My prescription has gotten a good bit less "strong".  My older brother has had a similar experience.

Even so, I would characterize it as a "prescription change" instead of "improvement."  My kids' vision is much more acute than mine.  Some things simply do not improve with age.

I just had my racing physical and tested at 20/10. Last year I was 20/40. I'm 73!

Not really.  Laser 10 years ago is almost holding its own.

Went from 20/1000 with -5.75 diopter and very poor night vision to 20/15 then settled around an average of  20/20.  Night vision while driving improved a lot.

Good days are still 20/15 but these are getting more rare.  Bad days 20/25.

Depends upon how tired my eyes are.    Reading glasses required in all but bright light.

One caveat of laser surgery is some people have decreased ability to produce tears after the surgery.  I was one of these people so I need eye drops a few times a day.

For some reason, the last time I had an eye exam, my prescription was backed off a little, but astigmatism was up.

Well, if this happens to me, I'll be happy, but the opposite seems to be true for me. I got glasses in my 30s after having excellent eyesight up until that point.

My wife’s vision gets better as she ages.  She sees stuff I never do.  She also sees stuff that isn’t there.  And she points it all out to me.

Mine have not improved. I haven't see the eye doctor in about 4 years and it's past time. My arms are too short and the trees are starting to look a little fuzzy.

I went crazy juicing carrots for a year - 2-3# a day and after a year my eyesight improved.

I quit due to laziness.....and maybe my weight might be a bit higher.

I used to occasionally use a mild perscription, but found an article talking about eye excersizes and have done them once or twice a month and never used them again. Been tested twice since. My eye doc says it is bs, but I never trust a man to acknowledge anything not in his best interest when money is at stake. No idea if I am just a really good placebo subject, or eye muscles help.

There is also some science saying lack of sunlight exposure correlates to near sightedness. I think its just a matter of focusing to infinity more often, which is hard to do inside, but who knows.

Juicing - you end up with maybe 24-36 ounces of juice?

Yes, I once attended a gathering of hipster vegan juicers.  There were lots of carrots, precious little juice, and lots of carrot-sawdust-pulp.  Didn't seem very efficient to me.

The stuff is pretty amazing though, so it might be worth it.  Just a few sips, and you can tell that you have acquired super-powers.
