Does it have both a 2jz and an f20c in it? Because I'd be open to that.

Would a 1983 RX-7 with a 1984 13B motor, cage, fuel cell, strengthen trans & diff for 500hp be something you'd be interested in?

I have a barely running Vette, but you get to enjoy the beach while we're swapping cars, so there's that.

No, but it sure is stupid.

If it helps, I could put a 2jz in the hatch. I mean, just sitting there.

How crazy is the port job? LSD? Dog-ring transmission?

For future offers: Synchronizers aren't as cool as a crashbox.

What I really want is a NASCAR/ARCA/Northwest Touring Car/something or another set up for a road course. But that's probably bigger money than an e90 BMW. At least with a good engine.

Man, I really like that car! Is a CSPish Miata stupid enough? No AC, silly spoiler, all sorts of uncomfortable with the MOMO seat and 5 point harness. But on Hoosiers it'll pull 1.5 G laterally

Is an e30 stupid?

KyAllroad: Tell me more about the engine. Is it plateable? What size wheels/tires. Any fat-guy mods? At 6'2" and 325#, I'm going to need about all of them. I'm going to be driving a much older BMW down to Asheville next Thursday (possibly sooner) and I'll be running right through Lexington. Any chance I could see if my butt actually fits?

Also E30s are definitely stupid, but unless it's a wagon and/or has a non-m10/20 engine, it's not my kind of stupid.

Hmmm. It's street legal with a fun vanity plate right now. Street wheels are 16x7 with good all season tires. Race wheels a Kosei 15x9 with A7s. Motor is untouched 1997 with CAI/header/lightweight flywheel. 4.3 torsen rear end. Spec Miata suspension with poly bushings all around.

The seat absolutely won't fit you, I'm guessing a gentleman of your size would need an aluminum Kirkey shell of a seat. It does have a QR MOMO steering wheel for climbing in and out. I'm a mere slip of a man by comparison at 5'9" and 190 lbs and the current seat is SNUG, and the thigh bolsters make ingress/egress virtually impossible without removing the wheel.

In reply to Cactus:

It has a light street port. Right now it is NA, but the whole car was originally setup for a 70mm turbo to make over 400 at the wheel. The engine had less than 1000 miles with turbo installed before going back to NA. My seat is comfy once into it at 6' & 210lbs. Depending on where your weight is, the side bolsters might or might not fit you. Gearbox is syncho. Rear is LSD. Wheels are 16x6.5 with 205/50-16 tires.

I've got a 1987 Porsche 944 S with a freshly rebuilt motor

This dog likes it.

It turns good.

It does burnouts.

I already have a 951 with spun bearings. I've let it sit for a couple years now. (I think I'm going on 3 or 4?) I should probably sell that while it's still mostly together.

You are aware there's a real Penske, Ryan Newman-driven NASCAR set up for road courses on BaT right now? 850hp, 9000rpm pushrod V8. Currently sitting at $6100 with 2 days to go.

Trade for a 2007 Civic Si sedan + a 2005 Mazda RX-8 sport non-sunroof to sweeten the deal?

Or perhaps a 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050 plus... something?

I sold my 951 with spun bearings for more than I bought it for.

I traded a '73 BMW Bavaria roller for my 951. I had plans to fix it. Still do, but plans without corresponding budget don't get you very far.
