WTB: e46 receiver hitch

I have a new to me 2001 330ci 5 speed and need a hitch for my rack or utility trailer.  I can pick up along the route from Montgomery Alabama to Peoria Illinois.

Not sure how much you've looked into them, but most that I've seen for the e46 just bolt through the trunk pan in the spare tire well, and aren't rated for much. (Versus say a Miata hitch actually bolts between reinforced points, etc. and are still only rated for 200lb tongue, 2k total.)

Thanks for the info.  I mostly want a way to attach a hitch rack for toad trips as I work on the road for sometimes months at a time and have tools and test equipment.  I may make my own if that's how it works.  I have a 6.0 AWD Yukon Denali for real towing 

Maybe I can just weld or bolt a plate to the bottom of the spare well with a piece of 2.25x2.25 welded to it
