It's a long shot, but I gotta ask. My rear speakers kept cutting out so I cleaned all contacts (removable radio) with alcohol and pushed it back in, Nada. One of the Saabs I owned, the volume knob was touchy, the knob's shaft rides inside a cylinder of graphite which cracks over time. I shot a little alcohol around the shaft now it's dead.

I would recomend calling Tired Iron (Sauquoit, NY). Claude and Carol are hardcore Saab people and they have a lot of Saab specific parts.
