I ran across the Repopulation today and thought it looked interesting. Then I saw this "It will be a Free To Play title with income being generated from an in-game cash shop and optional one-time membership fees." This was in reference to subscription fees (which I loathe). What the hell does that mean? Do I have to earn money in game every month to keep my account alive?
No but it might be pay to win which sucks. When done right and the cash shop is vanity or time savings then all good. Cash to buy the best weapon in the game available no other way then kind of scummy.
I did some further reading and it seems that they are planning only to do the vanity items and such but nothing that actually affects game play. It is in Alpha early access on Steam and I am tempted to pick it up. However, if I just wait for the official release, I can run one character for free.
