The Nissan is not down on PP if you do an oil change, then run 50 miles or so, and do an overhaul. It is legal and with front wheel drive might be great in the rain. Don't know about fuel, haven't tested.

Sorry, that one is a stone. Too far back on PP. Legal though.

Spool, your options would be 908, R10, Delta Wing, GT-R, or Courage-Peugeot (non hybrid). The R18 and Toyota are 6 or so seconds off the pace, down on PP.

R18?

They are available but don't have ultimate pace for a shoot out.

I'm going to take a 908. Tried the Audi but really didn't like it.

My game keeps freezing on the last GT academy challenge. If not I'll hop in the other delta wing. Air, which one are you using? EDIT: for authenticity, we should all use cockpit views

I have both ready to go, so if you use one, just show up and I will take the other.

Everyone is talking about short shifting and running a pace to get 6 laps on a pit stop. Meanwhile, Air and Spool will be hammering the e36m3 out of the Delta Wings and closing the time gap while running a one-stop strategy...

Since there are a number of 908s running, I will switch to the Bentley Speed8.

It's not my favorite Gulf Oil colors, but British Racing Green is probably 2nd.

Oh, and I'm faster driving it.

Mudd are you running the Speed8 still? If so, I may try and tame the R10.

I just ran a full mock race with cautions and a pace lap. 22 laps is the number I got. Fuel did not work out exactly rite in the second half of the race. We were at exactly one hour comming yo the green at ttge start of the 15th lap. Thus I probibly don't need to top off. Also I discovered that two laps under caution nets you an extra lap under green with ease fuel wise. So including the two laps under caution I could do seven laps total. This is a PITA as I need eight to get to the finish. Also it looks like the race will finish night with the start at 1700. This means you can not go full out fast laps comming to the cheacker compared to day light racing.

The real race is going to start after the yellow at lap 13. This is where all the strategy will come in.

On a good note I managed to drive the whole race with out crashing.

Ya that was the strategy but with what I learned tonight it will B hammer time fore the whole second half of the race.

The race will run like the actual 24 hours. It will start at about 1700 local time, dark is just before 2200, sunrise is about 0600, the race will finish about 1700 the next day. This will all happen during the race as time is set to 16x speed.

You didn't mention how much rain you had. The last three time cycle run throughs that I did averaged between 22 and 46 minutes of rain generated by the computer at random. (I just start the race, park the car, and watch what the weather does. Needed to learn how the settings work to make an interesting race.)

These cars are very tricky in the rain. If you are being all macho and not going to use traction control, you might want to reconsider. Consider how much time will be spent by sticking it in the Armco and limping back to the pits for repairs. You can still open the taps up fully on the straights but you have to be very, very gentle with brakes, throttle, and steering everywhere else. Good news is that fuel mileage doubles.

Watch the wet lap that I posted and even though it looks like I am going slow, you can see several small - and not so small - wiggles. A "safe" lap time in full wet conditions is 4:12-15.

I ran no rain so I could figure worst case fuel usage and most laps run. Rain will probibly add 30-40% to your fuel millage.

In reply to dean1484:

16x time change gives 24hours in 90 minutes. Fuel mileage is doubled in the wet as you have to stay away from the power bands and use higher gears.
