Can anyone tell me about them? I'm looking at them on Craigslist, there's one at http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/mcy/1581841051.html I really like the looks of.

I want something easy to work on, dependable, decent gas mileage... I'm looking at Nighthawks and Shadows too, I just like the lowness of this bike.

Anyway, I don't want something super rare or hard to find parts for, etc... So figured I'd ask about this before I think about it too hard.

They're the last evolution of the Honda SOHC fours and as such pretty robust if looked after. Aside from potential problems with camchain tensioners (is there any Honda that doesn't have those), they like fresh oil on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure that the cams run in the head (no separate bearing shells) so if people forget to change the oil like the owners of oil brit bikes are wont to, the surfaces get damaged and you have a problem. Carbs might well leak (most SOHC fours have that problem occasionally).

Spares in general are reasonably easy to find for Hondas - easier than, say, Yamahas and Suzukis of similar vintage. Your local Honda dealer might not be able to help but there are specialists out there who would normally be able to.

Decent gas mileage, oh well. The Honda fours are generally a little thirsty. A lot of it depends on your right hand.

The one thing I don't like about it is that it's been messed about with. You don't know what sins it's hiding so please, please do yourself a favour and take someone with you who knows about old bikes.
