Hello all this is my first post here. i am in the process of rolling in new main bearings on my 626. I used a screwdriver to tap the bearings in and I may have hit the end of the bearing a just a little to hard. Hard enough to leave a slight impression in the end of the bearing where it will crush against the other half in the cap.

Am I wasting my time putting this back together or do you guys think it will make no difference? I Really don't want to put it together if I'm just gonna be take it back apart.

Advice is much appreciated!

Pictures would help, but I'm guessing it will be ok. Post up a pic or two of the damaged area and another with the cap assembled so we can see what we're dealing with.

Hello,  I can't address your question,  but do you have a 626 turbo?  I own four of them (at my house)! And I have a mx6 turbo in storage. I'm happy to see another 626 person here.

Can you feel the impression? How noticeable is it?
