I'm planning on taking my family (son age 11, and possibly wife) to the Roar before the 24 on Saturday. The kid likes cars, but probably not enough to watch an entire 3-hour race.  Infield parking is free, so I suppose we'll just plan to show up and plan to walk around.  We're practically local, so it's fine if we just pop  in for a few hours.  We've been to a handful of SCCA races, motocross, and global rallcross events in Daytona in the past. I noticed there's no camping at the RoarBefore.

Any tips or advice you can offer?  Are there any events or activities we should definitely attend?

I hope you had a great time. I've only been to the roar once, and didn't see your post, so not much to offer.

Unfortunately, I didn't make it to Daytona this weekend.  Had a bit of a scare with the aging family pet. Luckily the old dog seems to have bounced back.  I'll have to try harder to get to the actual 24-hour event this year.
