American muscle is on center stage in this series.

Optima Batteries’ search for the ultimate street car will continue in 2015. The USCA tours the country putting car and drivers to the test through a series of road rallies, time trials, a unique concours-type event and other competitions. All years, makes and models are welcomed. One of their road rallies stopped by our office earlier this year and we saw everything from extreme American muscle to Miatas.

Along with an official schedule—again culminating in an invitational finale in Las Vegas—the Ultimate Street Car Series is introducing a few changes to the competition itself.

The biggest change comes in the form of new classes. There will be four separate classes to try and group cars of similar capabilities. The class structures are outlined below.

· GT – 1990 and newer 3,200-pound minimum weight two wheel-drive sedans, four-seat coupes and late-model trucks (example: 5th generation Camaro, BMW M3/M5, Cadillac CTSV)
· GTS (Sports car) – 1990 and newer 3,200-pound minimum weight factory production two-seater automobiles and any all-wheel drive vehicles (example: C5/C6/C7 Corvette, Mitsubishi Evo, Nissan GTR)
· GTV (Vintage) – 1989 and older 3,200-pound minimum weight rear wheel drive (example: 1969 Camaro, 1987 Monte Carlo, 1974 Pontiac Firebird)
· GTL (Lights) – All vehicles (including AWD models) under 3,200 pounds

The official 2015 event schedule will proceed as follows:

· Thunderhill Raceway Park, California - February 28 - March 1
· Texas Motor Speedway, Texas - March 28 - 29
· National Corvette Museum Raceway, Kentucky - June 6 - 7
