That's pretty darn cool.

The C8 Corvette’s electronic driver aids have been among our favorites since their introduction. Chevy’s PTM–Performance Traction Management–aids serve as more than simple nannies designed to keep you out of trouble. They’re legitimately helpful, particularly in limited-traction conditions like rain or damp tracks, or when you are learning a new track and want a bit of extra safety margin without sacrificing much, if any, speed.
For 2026, the Corvette team ups the ante on finding speed by adding coaching functions to their PDR–Performance Data Recorder–package. Similar to the Garmin Catalyst, the “driver speed tips” function can suggest available improvements to lower lap times by focusing on key segments.
The Cosworth-developed PDR system can now synthesize your data from multiple laps to find your theoretical optimal performance through each corner and suggest those improvements through data traces and video.
There’s no word yet on whether this feature will be integrated into just the 2026 version of the Corvette’s PDR, or if previous PDR implementations will be able to upgrade to this functionality as well. If nothing else, it’s a solid admission of intent directly from the Corvette development team that they want the C8 to not simply be track capable, but as we’ve found in our track tests, track conquering as well.
