Did you know Harbor Freight sells driving coach accessories?

We’re enamored with our Garmin Catalyst, but we had an issue: How do you carry it to and from the track?

With a camera, windshield mount, tablet, suction cup, cables, adapters and accessories, a Catalyst is an unwieldy collection of stuff to bring to and from the race track.

And, shockingly, we couldn’t find any off-the-shelf cases.

Sure, we found covers for the tablet, but we wanted something that would hold the whole package.

Then we found it at our local Harbor Freight Tools. Their line of Apache cases feels 90% as nice as those from Pelican but come at more realistic prices: Just $34.99 got us this one, known as a 2800 or Medium in the store’s catalog.

Once our new case was home, we spent about 15 minutes picking foam out of the way until everything had a home. We even had some spare room for our RaceSense tire gauge, but if you don’t have a fancy gauge we’d recommend using the space for an action camera or two.

The result? A compact, durable way to keep every part of the Catalyst together and protected. This just might be the best $35 we’ve ever spent.

I don't have a Catalyst, but I might be buying up a case or two for my (slowly) growing 35mm camera collection.

Handy tip, I've sometimes wanted a Pelican case but never had Pelican case money cheeky For small equipment I've found dollar-store zippered hard cases from the electronics section to be very handy, similar to this:
