Looks like 43 entries right now! Are there typically many more people that register in these last few weeks?
You like to keep things on the cheap, right?
Then why haven’t you registered to compete in this year's $2000 Challenge yet? The price to enter is only $180 right now, but it will increase to $215 after midnight on October 8.
What is the $2000 Challenge? It’s our annual low-buck motorsports event. It tasks teams with building a car that can conquer the autocross, dominate the drag strip, and steal the concours show–all for less than $2000.
The contest goes down at Gainseville Raceway in Gainseville, Florida, October 22-23.

And the #47 car is an early scratch. Job change is forcing me to cut out the fun.

Good and the bad news is almost everyone registers at the last minute, so we’re expecting a normal turnout.

Yesterday I discovered I have 8 days of PTO to take before they exipre at the end of the year. I suggested to my wife a visit to Florida that weekend but she keeps saying this phrase, like "family in the midwest you haven't seen in 2 years" or something like that. I dunno what that's about but it doesn't sound like cars to me :(

Considering the number of cars that show up & aren't even running yet, it's probably no surprise.
