As electrification becomes more common in cars on the road today, why not have a show dedicated to them?

Enter Autopia 2099 Powered by Nissan–brought to you by the people you brought you Radwood–where pretty much anything powered by electricity is welcome:

Your home-built projects, your brand-new Nissan Leaf, your experimental hydrogen fuel cell in-line skates, or your kid’s powerwheels, it’s all welcome. Whether you’re a hypermiler or a racer or anywhere in between, if you have an appreciation for electric propulsion, Autopia 2099 is where you want to be.

Taking place at Optimist Studios in Los Angeles, California, on December 4 starting at 8 a.m., the theme for Autopia 2099 is retrofuturism: "Buck Rogers, Atomic Age, World’s Fair, Eames chair, mid-mod, ray gun-type stuff.” (Kind of like how Radwood is all about the ‘80s and ‘90s.)

For more information about Autopia 2099, check out the website here. Tickets start at $5 for spectators and $15 if you're entering a car; both can be purchased here.

I'm eager to see all the people dressed like Buck Rodgers wearing hydrogen fuel cell in-line skates.

Is there a special trophy if you manage to drive a Sebring-Vangard CityCar instead of trailering it?
