Thank you, everyone, for making the 2023 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack the best one yet. Pat yourself on the back and take a minute to relax after a weekend filled to the brim with low-buck thrills.
Done relaxing? Good, because we are excited to announce that the 2024 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack is set for April 6-7, 2024. If you needed a reason to start building a car or acquiring parts for next year’s $2000 Challenge, here’s your sign.
What is the $2000 Challenge? It’s our annual automotive festival that celebrates autocross, drag racing and ingenuity.
The real challenge is in the event's name, however, as entries are required to prepare their vehicles for less than $2000. Each of these sub-$2000 cars will compete in autocross and drag racing sessions, followed by a concours-style judging session the next day.
For those interested in seeing if more money really equals more speed, competitors are also welcome to enter cars built or prepared for more than $2000.
See the results from the 2023 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge here and stay tuned for full coverage of the event in an upcoming issue of Grassroots Motorsports. Visit 2000challenge.com for future updates and more information.
I guess I need to start on my car.
(Didn't I say that last year?)
And that Miata does look awsome!
I should put that picture on my desktop to remind me EVERY DAY.

Yup, Jonathan’s Miata photographed so well: the graphics, the stance, the entire package.
In reply to Captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :
It wasnt mtn as i couldnt afford that in the budget but it was close. Some rustoleum green laquer and a sharpie wide pen from lowes lol.
The MTN paint would have been much better and not ran...
Hotel reservations are now open:

The hotel is usually super busy in April and there's a conference going on, too, so they expect to sell out. I'd make your reservations ASAP.
