Since Michelin owns BFG, I'm assuming this is a change in branding strategy, not a siginificant change in tire construction or performance.
The MX-5 Cup you know and love, now with more Michelin tires.
More specifically, Michelin has been chosen as both the official tire supplier and presenting sponsor of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup.
Every car competing in the series is now required to use Michelin Pilot Sport Competition 20/61-17 racing slicks in place of the BFGoodrich tires previously used.
The new Michelin tires are set to make their MX-5 Cup debut at the first races of the 2024 season at Daytona International Speedway on January 25 and 26 ahead of the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
