Why admit one more car after capping the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona to 60 cars?

According to IMSA President John Doonan, “Having 61 cars for the 61st running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona seems only natural. After we previously announced a 60-car capacity for the field last month–and knowing that we received more than 70 entries–our IMSA team regrouped and eventually determined that we could accommodate one more entry to match our field size from last year. This is shaping up to be a Rolex 24 and a 2023 IMSA season for the ages.”

The No. 75 SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes-AMG is the lucky 61st entry to the 2023 Rolex 24, expanding the GTD field to 25.

The full list teams and cars can be viewed here. An entry list that includes driver names is expected to be released sometime next week.

SunEnergy usually has the best color scheme at the Rolex!

The above color scheme makes the waterfall in the hood look deep enough to swallow a small child.

I'm not sure if I'm pleasantly surprised or disappointed that SunEnergy1 isn't, in fact, an energy drink.

And a recent addition to the roster: reigning IndyCar champ Will Power. He'll be driving that Sun Energey 1 Mercedes-AMG GT3 along with Kenny Habul, Fabian Schiller and Axcil Jeffries.
