Call it an easy way to slide into a turn-key $2000 Challenge car–or maybe a way to help fund a noble cause. Abby Hempy and Tucker Alsup joined us this fall at the $2000 Challenge, and the team’s 1998 BMW 528i art car is now available via eBay Motors.
The sale has a charitable side:
50% of the proceeds will go toward the Superior School of Dance in Hancock, MI.. These funds will go toward scholarships given to graduating dancers to provide them support in pursuing education. Abby hopes to inspire young students interested in art to see the creative side of engineering.
This car has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Now, Matt Stone’s site and The Race Day Newsletter. Mechanically it’s fairly stock, although the exterior is quite distinctive. (Part of it glows under blacklight, too.) Full details on the auction listing.

When I first saw this, it crossed my mind. Being in Ohio, this is in a neighboring state. But dam...10 hours away to the top of the UP of Mich. Also, this time of year, five of those hours are rough/snowy
Plenty of room there for more Challenge shenanigans.
