As the result of a proclamation by the governor of Kentucky, Saturday, April 22, is SCCA Motorsport Day. It coincides with the first event for the SCCA Appalachian HillClimb Series, April 21-23, at Pine Mountain State Park in Pineville, Kentucky.

The proclamation by Governor Andy Beshear recognizes the efforts of several entities, including Backroads of Appalachia, the Pine Mountain HillClimb, and the promoters, enthusiasts and participants involved.

We’re not sure if this means that the residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky can count this as a holiday to call out of work, but this might be as good of an opportunity as any to use it as an excuse to catch the Pine Mountain HillClimb in the Bluegrass State.
