Stop bench racing and start building: Registration for the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by CRC Industries is now officially open! Head on over to the $2000 Challenge website and register your car now, and then get crackin'. Whether you intend to bring some manner of quarter mile terror or autocross dominator, we’d like to see you there!

As a plus, This year’s $2000 Challenge will also feature a totally revamped autocross grid, meaning competitors will spend less time waiting and more time racing. It will be much easier to take advantage of pro drivers, too.

While registering, be sure to check out the rest of the helpful information we have on the site, including rules and lodging.

And to sweeten the deal this year even further, the winner of this year’s $2000 Challenge will not only win the adoration of their fellow racers and a trophy provided by White Pony and Copart, but also a Millermatic® 211 MIG Welder from Miller.

Someone ran a VR4 in the $2000 challenge? That's pretty awesome, does anyone know which year it ran and who the member was?

i thought we already decided that I'm winning that welder, and I'm going to let Patrick borrow it occasionally.

This was at last year's Challenge, Kurt Hennard brought it as an exhibition entry.

It's going to be very difficult to win the welder with a fairly stock Sonoma.

Should I still sign up as an entry if I have little hope of bringing a car under budget?

So we've revamped the grid, which means more time racing and less time waiting! Also, taking advantage of pro drivers will be easier, too.

In reply to Andy Neuman :

Sure, you can run under exhibition if it doesn't quite fit the budget rules

You'll need to log in to post.
