I love it. In fact, I think I like it more than a real Evo due to the simpler look.

Can’t buy the car of your dreams? Then build it.
When HaveBlue83 introduced this project on the GRM forum back in 2014, that was the stated goal: Build that which cannot be imported–which, in this case, was a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III.
The starting point for the U.S.-based recreation? A 1993 Eagle Summit DL coupe–a base model, too, the thread states.
The 10-year odyssey has covered engines and turbos, downpipes and tunes. The latest? As wheel horsepower approaches the 400 mark–371 along with 353 lb.-ft.–we hear that an automatic with paddles might be in the car’s future.
Absolutely great idea. I feel like a custom build can be more satisfying, anyway. I want a MT GT 500 but no current model exists and recent models are DCT. I am building an S650 with aftermarket parts and custom Billet badges (Custom, not re-badged as a GT 500), and although the built GT may not be "special" or hold resale value, I think I will end up appreciating the car more than I would a mass produced or even "exclusive" unit. I intend to drive it, not sell it - so I could care less about resale value. I hope to do something similar with a C7 Grand Sport in the future.
Thanks for the kudos! Its getting an engine bay cleanup job at the moment! Shes made about 450whp so far, but i have it about 400 the last year to give it a break and save the tires a bit. :) not sure the auto will pan out but it will be back in the road by summer.
Yours is a lot cleaner than my new track rat '95 eagle. I've enjoyed this since the seeing it on the mirage forums when you started.

Nothing special yet. Just a 95 DL that I'm prepping for a track rat build. Just finished up the suspension, got the motor on the engine stand to finish building up. Moved over my coil overs and did the 4 wheel disc conversion. I've got an expo 5 speed to get the 4.592 FD and will have a quaife in it sometime this year. Then just adding in some safety items like a half cage and seats/harnesses. Basically something to hit the track in 6-8 times a year for the day and not worry if it ends up in a corn field.
