Thanks for the feature!
When someone offers to sell a perfectly good engine and transmission out of their unfinished project, most people will either buy those items or move on.
Of course, forum user mgfoster isn't most people. When a friend offered to sell an LS engine and 6L80E transmission from an unfinished conversion van project, mgfoster countered with the offer of finishing the project instead.
Sure, the engine and transmission were there, but that didn't mean there wasn't a lot of work to be done.
Loose wires were plentiful, lines for oil and fuel needed to be plumbed, and the drivetrain needed to be refurbished to handle the new(er) engine.
Undeterred, mgfoster powered through until it was time to start the engine.
The big moment of truth had arrived. Would it run?
Success. Now that the engine ran, all that was left to do was to rebuild the parts that transfer the power to the road and that LS sound to the air.
That meant buttoning up the driveline, installing a shiny new exhaust setup and, of course, reattaching the wheels.
The plan now? mgfoster explains it best: "Lugs torqued and tires filled up ready for burnouts!"
