Update by David S. Wallens to the Honda Civic Si project car
May 27, 2005

Okay, here’s our Civic on the new springs. The rates are 250 lbs./in. up front and progressive rears, 100-150 lbs./in. The front Konis are set at the stock perch height, while we used the lowest rear perch in order to keep the car from sticking its butt too high in the air. All four shocks are set at full-soft.

Yes, the car is low. Too low? That our fear, as it’s more or less riding on the bumpstops. While the car looks tough, we’re not entirely happy. We did some math using an online spring rate calculator, and it looks like we have the right Whiteline springs for our application. (And they’re installed at the correct ends of the car, too.)

So, what to do? Move to Plan B.
