Konis and autocross go together like peanut butter and jelly, so when the nice folks at Koni asked us to try out a set of prototype shocks for the new car, we were only too eager to say “yes.” (Truth be told, we were stalking Koni’s Lee Grimes, sending him love notes and baking him cupcakes so he would send us some new shocks) We installed the front shocks on Saturday. The new design requires that you remove the lower spring perch from the factory shocks and reinstall it on the new dampers. The installation is pretty straightforward after that.
We’re waiting for a conical washer that is made by Helix so we can finish mounting the rears.
We’ll be testing the shocks out on Wednesday, we’ll let you know how they feel.
