Update by Tim Suddard to the Honda Ridgeline project car
Feb 21, 2017

In Four or five short months, our new Ridgeline has already seen up 8000 miles. The indicator on the dash let us know it was time for our truck’s first bit of maintenance. How the time flies with trips back and forth to the airport, race trips to Savannah and Sebring. It’s hard to believe we had already covered that much ground.

We assumed there were adjustments to be made and service to be done, but in typical Honda fashion, the only thing required was to change the oil. We chose a full synthetic oil, changed the filter, and in less than an hour our Honda was back in service.

As for problems, recalls and regrets, there just aren’t any. Our truck has been absolutely flawless so far with no issues. This begs the question: What would we do differently? Would we have optioned our Ridgeline differently? Would we have built the truck differently? The answers to all these questions is a resounding no. We are absolutely thrilled with the new Ridgeline, just the way it is.

But, but.... it's not a real truck! Waaaaaaaa, I need my body -on- frame!

But seriously, I'd love to have one.

I was wondering when Tim and Margie were going to get one! Love the white.

I continue to watch the first gens to see if they get cheap enough. Unfortunately, due to our large dog loving ways I forsee no pickups in our future.

I still maintain the only possible improvement would be an Avalanche style folding midgate/back seat.

Or a CRV or HRV based baby brother.

I really think a ridgeline is going to be my next vehicle. As much as I'm on the fence about a CTR or a revised 2018 STI, the S2000 is a great weekend/track car and the Chumpcar Accord is a great race car. I need a truck to do other things.

I am looking at 1st gens as well. Are they the same transmission that are in similar year odyssey's?

Now that would be interesting...if it were a standard cab.

Yes for the most part. I don't recall the Ridgeline having the same torque converter issues or VSA block issues that the Odyssey had. I could be wrong; but, for the most part they are the same drivetrain wise to the Pilot and Odyssey

Thanks dirty bird ...

I have a 2012 oddly now , but a Ridgeline would be. A much better fit.

Nice truck but they seem awful expensive for something that's not a Z06.

Oops. Sorry, wrong thread.
