1997 Honda Civic hatch

This is a car my son and I are sharing, though technically its his “first car”’. It started as a base D16y7 automatic, was converted to a full on Ricer in the early 2000’s. We’re talking Wings West body kit, Sparco seats, red and white vynal everything interior, big sound system, cheap lowering springs, stock struts, 18” wheels. Venom N2O, and one of Oscar Jackson’s fine superchargers. I got the car with a failed blower belt that had wrapped around the crank pulley and skipped timing. Got lucky, new timing belt made it run, tho with so much clatter and blow by I didn’t think it would last long. Gave it to my son thinking it would either have trans or engine failure, but it hasn’t. Through several autocrosses, with multiple drivers, it proved to both be fun and drive like a pig. New plan…last winter I ordered a D16 JDM engine with 5spd trans. Commence total transformation!

Civic project completed. JDM engine/trans swap went as planned. Added front sway bar, Eibach struts 4 corners. 15" used ARE wheels, Plasti Dipped whole car a really cool bronze combo, sorted the interior. Car was quick, needed further sorting for auto cross. After a year son sold it to try something different, Subaru 2.5RS.
