Thought I had this in here already. I once owned an Alfa powered Huffaker Genie but never got to drive it. Always felt cheated, so this is my consolation build of a "Vintage race car" to be driven on the street and perhaps a few track events. Currently my main build. Dio-Tipo/Alfa Romeo, kind of - sort of, a birdcage Maserati replica. Using as much of a rusted out '73 Alfa Spider as possible on a custom tube chassis. Fairly well along on the build and hoping to have a roller with drive-train in place by fall. Just got engine mounts finalized and waiting on delivery of the rebuilt trans so I can do the trans mounts.

Slightly warmed up 2.0 Alfa Nord engine, Webers, distributorless ignition, dry-sump (Yah, I got a little carried away!), tube headers, five speed with lightened second gear, lightened flywheel, buying an aluminum clutch disk. Alfa front spindles, rack & pinion steering, Alfa live axle with three-link. One year only factory Cromadora 6x14 mag wheels to keep a period vintage look.

Trying to keep it to around 1400 Lb's, could go lighter but it is a "Street" car. Only 130'ish HP but it should be fun.

Wow, haven't seen a Dio in 25 years and Bill Bonadio's shop is right around the corner from me.

Well it seems the Alfa-Dio build may be delayed while I do a TR4A/Buick V6 first. This means Bill will get to eventually sell me another body. Not sure if I am going live with the TR4A rear suspension or cut the back of the frame off and do a three or four link.
