Love the Maxima! How much of a pita was the swap?
Swap wasn't bad at all. Its just a simple swap of a few timing components and a throttle body mod because the 3.5 uses drive-by-wire. The 3.5 comes in both fwd and rwd platforms and the castings are different so you must make sure you have the correct corresponding motor. Motor mounts are the same, and most of the sensors just swap right over. 241whp out of an NA motor is quite impressive, especially in a 3100lbs car (with driver and 1/2 tank of fuel). Everyone is always surprised at how quick it is, including myself.
Where did you get the headlights?
Every once in a while, a car like this resurrects my interest in 4th gen Maximas. Looks good.
