1987 Mercury Grand Marquis


This is my second 87 tudor. Many of the parts in it came from the first one. The plan is to build an all around car that would be at home on the road as well as drags, road courses and shows. I wanted to maintain all the power equipment and even add some along the way. Its still in progress. SPEC’S: WB: 114.3” Width: 77.5” Weight: 4000 lbs aprox ENGINE Short block: 92 Mustang 5.0.. Heads: D00E ported,flowed, 1.9/1.6 valves, alum rockers, guide plates, beehive springs… Intake: Blue Thunder, ported, flow matched to heads.. Headers: long tubes, custom by the Fab Shop.. CAM: Hyd roller.. Ignition: MSD.. Carbs: Holley 390s, Stage 5 by Nickerson, total CFM 1040.. Oil pan: Canton road race.. Paint: custom.. DRIVE TRAIN AOD: mistery build but low geared, Lentec lockout OD valve body, B&M oil pan.. Mega shifter: truck version with modified mount.. Drive Shaft: Aluminum.. Rear: 8.8 factory posi 3.55 gears EXHAUST: Pipes: 2.5: mandrel bent all the way to the bumper include X pipe, custom by The Fab Shop.. Mufflers: Quiet 2.5” 3 pass cores IMCO Premium series.. Cut outs: QTP electric (it a luxury car).. INTERIOR: SEATS: Front Recaro, heated and cooled, power adj recline, tilt, lumbar and bolsters, mounted to factory 6 way power mounts.. CONSOLE: custom inprogress.. Gages: Auto Meter custom mounting Power equipment: A/C, PS, CC, PDL, PW, PM, PS.. Exterior: Paint: Front and rear bumpers as well as grill painted to match body.. Head light covers: Home made.. Hood scoop: Reverse mounted 69 Mustang Boss 429.. WHEELS: Road race/street: Forgeline, front 18 x 10, rear 18 x 11.5.. TIRES: Road race/street: BFG KDW’s flame tread, front 285 x 30 x 18, rear 295 x 35 x 18.. Drags: 26 x 10.5 x 15 Hoosers rear,, FUEL SYSTEM: Pump: 150 GPH Holley.. Filters: Aeromotive.. Fuel cell: ATL 22 gal,semi custom, SCCA,FICA,IMPSA approved.. SUSPENSION FRONT: Shocks: Prostar QA1s, double adjustable.. Springs: 1000lbs rate street stockers (soon to be coil overs.. Lower control arms: HD police interceptor.. Upper contol arms: civilan with Police ball joints.. Sway bar: Addico, Energy bushings and end links.. SUSPENSION REAR: Shocks: Prostar QA1 double adj Springs: Coil overs.. Lower control arms: Custom adjustable.. Upper control arms: Custom adjustable.. Sway bar: Addico, custom mounting.. BRAKES: Master cyl: Willwood.. Brake booster: From a 93 Grand Marquis.. Front Brakes: Disc Poilce calipers, SS Raybestos pads and rotors.. Rear brakes: Drums std All replaced with SS Raybestos componets.. PERFORMANCE: 1/4 Mile: unknown at this time.
