1973 Mercury Broadspeed Bullit Capri

Acquired in Feb 1978 from the original owner. 1973 Ford Capri Mk.1 modified by Broadspeed Limited in the U.K. in Nov 1973. 2.8L V6 with Holset turbo and a pressurized blow through the carb setup. Broadspeed upgraded fuel sys, cooling sys, brakes, suspension and ZF limited slip diff. Approximately 18 built with the turbo. Engine dynoed at 218 HP. Modified it with IMSA style fender flares and larger wheels & tires. (RokStock) Dupont Imron complete paint in May 1981. Larger anti roll bars and solid steering rack bushings. Driven over 200k miles. Performance specs. in January 2007 0 to 60mph - 6.50 sec.; 1/4 mile - 14.85 sec. at 97.4 mph. 7 psi boost in 4th gear. Overheating in 2008. Stored for complete engine rebuild with .040” oversize pistons, metal cam gear, heavy duty oil pump, new radiator core, cooling fan, battery, fabricated new exhaust collector, down pipe, rebuilt Holset turbocharger and rebuilt Weber carburetor. Back running in September 2022. As of January 2, 2023 less than 100 miles on rebuilt engine.
