1990 Mazda Spec Miata

My Spec Miata wasn’t always such a nice car; we found the chassis lying dead behind a shop in western Michigan. Windows open, top gashed & unloved for at least 2 winters…the car was a mess visually. However, the car had never been wrecked and the drivetrain was in great shape…after some dickering, I brought it home for $750 and began the conversion from skank to Spec. That was in 2002…since then we’ve moved to Charlotte, NC, got logbooks for SCCA and NASA, run the thing in an occasional autocross and have even been featured in a magazine ad for Safety Solutions (WEAR A HUTCHENS HYBRID!). Watch for me at a track in the Southeast & stop by for a cold beverage anytime!

Well, I've stripped all I needed from the car & sold the chassis on Sunday. It's going to a new home with big plans to be resurrected someday. In the meantime, I'm spending my efforts on building my "new" Spec Miata.
