Ride Rating

This was started to replace the Hideous Hardbody, as me and my two pre-teen boys were not realistically going to fit in a standard cab mini much longer.

Chevy trucks are cheap, and this one fell into my lap.

Box was poo. Engine was a smoker. 350/TH350. Goal was "cheap."

  • Long-to-short box conversion
  • Front: BellTech Spindles and 1-3/4 coil cut
  • Rear: Fabricated flip kit and shock extenders
  • Notched frame
  • Polyurethane bushings
  • Dual tanks added
  • .020" flat top hypereutectic pistons
  • Howard's 230@050 .470 108LSA camshaft
  • 305 heads heavily ported, exhausts polished, valves back-cut, exhaust valve edges radiused, screw-in-studs
  • Used Edelbrock Performer intake
  • Used headers
  • Used engine chrome
  • 2-1/2" exhaust, cheapie mufflers, 2-1/4" tailpipes
  • Rust patches made from the old box metal
  • TH350 with extra direct clutch and steel, 700R4 low sprag, hardened intermediate race, dual-fed direct, TransGo shift kit
  • Hughes 2500 stall converter
  • Yukon 3.73:1 gears and Detroit TruTrac
  • Wheel Vintiques 15x10 Rally's
  • Two-tone blue/white - Tremclad and a Roller
Still to do:
  • A/C retrofit
  • Regret the build (that's actually beginning)
