1977 Chevrolet Silverado

This was started to replace the Hideous Hardbody, as me and my two pre-teen boys were not realistically going to fit in a standard cab mini much longer. Chevy trucks are cheap, and this one fell into my lap. Box was poo. Engine was a smoker. 350/TH350. Goal was “cheap.” Long-to-short box conversion Front: BellTech Spindles and 1-3/4 coil cut Rear: Fabricated flip kit and shock extenders Notched frame Polyurethane bushings Dual tanks added .020” flat top hypereutectic pistons Howard’s 230@050 .470 108LSA camshaft 305 heads heavily ported, exhausts polished, valves back-cut, exhaust valve edges radiused, screw-in-studs Used Edelbrock Performer intake Used headers Used engine chrome 2-1/2” exhaust, cheapie mufflers, 2-1/4” tailpipes Rust patches made from the old box metal TH350 with extra direct clutch and steel, 700R4 low sprag, hardened intermediate race, dual-fed direct, TransGo shift kit Hughes 2500 stall converter Yukon 3.73:1 gears and Detroit TruTrac Wheel Vintiques 15x10 Rally’s Two-tone blue/white - Tremclad and a Roller Still to do: A/C retrofit Regret the build (that’s actually beginning)
