Most of us dream about it, but what’s it like to take a lap of the entire Nürburgring from behind the wheel of a serious race car?
This driver’s-eye view from the cockpit of a Porsche 911 GT3 R just might give you an idea. (And yes, we recommend wearing headphones for this one.)

The video description from YouTube says it's the Falken Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R. Alessio Picariello is the driver.

In Sep 1961, at age 23, I attended the 4-day Scuderia Hanseat Driving School at the Ring. At that time, the all-time lap record was 8:55.2, set by Phil Hill in his F1 Ferrari earlier that summer.
In my 1500cc/78 bhp MG-A, I labored mightily to break the 15-minute mark and finally did so on my last school day.
In the decades since then, the track has been significantly massaged in the name of safety. ("Emasculated" is a term I use!) Even so, the current lap times are staggering.
I would love to return there.

Ha, if I was driving one of those slower cars, I would have gotten in his way and caused a great wreck.
