This race attracts all of the greats from years past: Formula One, Can-Am, Trans-Am and more. Plus, with BMW as the featured marque, several BMW race machines from the ’80s and ’90s were also present.

Cool old Pontiac Tempest race car in the photo gallery. If it's Monterrey, then it must be the original. I saw it race in a Lime Rock Trans Am in the rain back in the early seventies. I remember it did quite well against the new Mustangs and Camaros of the era even though it was a private entry.
It is the original. I'm hoping to get something about it into the next issue of Classic Motorsports.
